So, a little bit about Barry Woods, our May poet. Barry’s work is versatile and accessible, and he also has a talent for putting together events and online anthologies which underpin our local poetry scene. His performances are always guaranteed to be varied and entertaining.

So, a little about Jim Pearson who was our songwriter for May. Jim is a bit of a local legend and also current Liverpool Songwriter of the Year among stiff competition. There are people scattered far and wide in the UK singing his songs, which are both catchy and message-carrying; I defy you not to go home from one of Jim’s gigs with several ear worms. In addition, he is an engaging and humble performer. His 10th solo album Darers Go First is out now.
