Wirral Poetry Festival has been running for 10 years and includes poetry picnics, online workshops and a live weekend in October annually, based in venues throughout Port Sunlight. The team are all prize winning poets themselves and include Kemal Houghton (chair), Judy Ugonna, Alison Schultz, Judith Railton, Jeremy Dixon and Ali Harwood. Last year, the festival weekend included 21 events across 3 days, with a poetry slam, open air performances, workshops and a performance in Lady Lever, and many illustrious visiting poets and performers.

Our first featured songwriter, Tom George is a musician and writer based in Liverpool. In addition to regular live poetry and music shows, he runs creative writing workshops with charities and festivals. Tom has released several music albums and poetry publications, including his latest book ‘Keys to the Forest: A Poetic Journey’, which explores modern life, spirituality and the transformative power of nature.
