Experience a unique glimpse into the visual world of Kathryn Williams in Striking Features, a brand-new exhibition hosted at Start Yard, Birkenhead by 471 Routes C.I.C.

Best known as a Mercury Prize–nominated singer-songwriter, novelist, and podcaster, Kathryn is also an accomplished painter whose work captures character, emotion, and quiet beauty. Striking Features showcases an intimate collection of portraits painted on matchboxes, alongside a series of watercolours and limited-edition prints.

Each piece reflects Kathryn’s instinctive, delicate style – small in scale yet rich in personality. These artworks sit at the intersection of music, storytelling, and visual expression, offering a rare chance to explore another facet of her creative universe.

Start Yard is open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with a vibrant café onsite serving great coffee, cakes, and fresh lunchtime favourites. Drop in, enjoy the exhibition, and explore the home of Wirral’s creative community.
