Start Yard proudly presents Daniel Meakin & Friends, a vibrant group exhibition showcasing a diverse mix of contemporary artists whose work explores texture, form, emotion, and storytelling.

Join us for the opening night on Friday 28th November, coinciding with Start Yard’s Christmas Party, and immerse yourself in an evening of art, conversation, and festive cheer.

Featured Artists

Daniel Meakin

with 35 years of executing and selling his paintings internationally, Daniel’s mixed-media pieces are a masterclass in layering and collage. His art fuses contour, colour, and composition to create rich, visual narratives that often border on the fantastical.

Clare Wrench

A landscape artist inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Clare primarily works with acrylics, building layers of colour to capture depth, tone, and atmosphere in her tranquil and evocative scenes.

Derek Prescott

Derek’s acrylic-on-canvas works are rooted in a love of nature and solitude. His art draws viewers away from the bustle of cities and into peaceful, reflective landscapes.

Gary Di Franco

Gary’s bold, tactile use of acrylics reflects his fascination with how colour, texture, and emotion collide. Drawing inspiration from both nature and urban life, his layered works pulse with creative energy.

Olena Kosheva

Working in watercolour and mixed media, Olena celebrates light, emotion, and the beauty of the everyday. Her expressive portraits, still lifes, and botanical pieces blend spontaneity with delicate precision.

Wendy Woo

Originally from Manchester, Wendy’s lifelong passion for creativity shines through her art. From anatomical sketches to furniture upcycling, her work channels an intuitive, hands-on approach to artistic exploration.

Fai McCabe

A Liverpool-based multidisciplinary artist and curator, Fai transforms the Rubik’s Cube into a medium of expression. Through the manipulation of hundreds of cubes, she constructs intricate, vibrant mosaic-like designs that challenge perception and celebrate nostalgia.
