I have always been keen to explore the unpredictability, strength and softness of organic forms found in nature; this is a language that is carried through all of my work.
I love to create paintings which express a sensitivity and intensity that many of us find within the natural world. With a particular emphasis on colour and light.
Subtle reference points emerge from my paintings, helping to evoke a sense place. These elements invite the viewer to find their own ‘reality’ within every piece.
I find the process of working intuitively with paint, by applying subtle layers, and allowing the image to evolve, to be extension of the theme itself.
Born and raised on The Wirral, I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2004 with a Fine Art Degree. In the years following this, I resided in Cornwall – before returning to raise my little family back here on The Wirral. Coastal living has always helped to inform much of the work I produce.
